Mario Turci is an anthropologist and architect. Director of the Ethnographic Museum of Santarcangelo di Romagna from 1980 to 2018 and of the “Fondazione Culture Santarcangelo” from 2008 to 2018, he is currently Director of the "Museo Ettore Guatelli" (Ozzano Taro di Collecchio). He is Lecturer in "Scenography and staging" at the School of Specialization in Anthropological Heritage of the University of Perugia and at the School of Specialization in Anthropological Heritage of the University of Rome "La Sapienza" and Director of the inter-ateneo laboratory "Permanent Laboratory of Ethnography of Material Culture - LAECM" (University of Perugia). Member and Vice President of SIMBDEA (Italian Society for Museography and Anthropological Heritage), and member of ICOM (International Council of Museums), SIAC (Italian Society of Cultural Anthropology) and SIAA (Italian Society of Applied Anthropology). Coordinator of the "Community of Museums of the Province of Parma", he has been a member of the executive council of ICOM. His main research areas are: Museum Anthropology, Anthropology and Ethnography of Material Culture, Heritage Education, Museology-Museography, Museum Expography. He is also museographer in the fields of museum management organization and museum exhibition design.
